Can you move a HD DVR receiver to a different location (address) and connect to a non HD satelllite dish and still recieve your regular non HD dish network program package?

Yep, just run check switch to set up the receiver for the different dish. When you return home you'll have to run it again to go back to your original dish.

What kind of dish

What kind of dish is it you are going to move it to? If you have a 1000.2 or 1000.4 then if you want HD need the same dish if you are in same general location.:D If it's a 500 (dish pro or pro plus) then you won't get much HD.

I would be moving it to a 500 Pro Plus dish, but I didn't expect to get any HD channels - more concerned with just being able to receive the original programing. I thought that the HD satellite dish was pointed to a different location, but I think I was wrong about that.

Really appreciate the wealth of information available in this forum.
