Moving ?

We've been with dish for quite a few years now and are going to be moving to our new house at the end of the month. I see that dish has a Dishmover deal where we take the receivers and they come do a new install.

The dishmover doesn't really offer a whole lot in the way of savings would we be better off signing up for a new account?

Any other issues that you guys have ran into when moving an account with dish?

Given that they'll do a credit check when you sign up for a new account, they'll likely recognize you and figure out what is going on.

While your credit and her's don't mix, the fact that you're married seems likely surface.

That being said, it probably can't hurt you to try but don't expect a modern day miracle.

As a retailer I've been bitten more than once by this very scenario. Back charged for everything except equipment, won't intentionally signup an existing customer ever again.

If you want to try this cancel the old account 1st, then go with the wife's name. If it fails switch providers and ride out the new customer deals. This is the only true way to save money.
