Yesterday found a new options for HD content in the Dish webpage (glod, platinum, silver and bronze). When I call them, they told me that I need to upgrade my equipment (I have a 942 DVR). The problem is that I have to pay $200,- for that. Do I have to wait for a special promotion to avoid/minimize this charge or this situation is not gonna change in the near future?. Im asking this because if they want me to move to a new technology, is their interest that within a specific period of time they can discontinue the older service. Am I right or Im missing something here?
Thanks.

You pay $200 up front. Dish rebates you $100 when you return your 942 and gives you 10 - $10 credits for programing.
