I noticed in the thread about the Tivo lawuit that MPEG2 HD channels will be gone by March 07. Is this true? At the moment I have a 6000 receiver with legacy LNBs and my tv does not have HDMI or DVI inputs. On the new HD receivers will the analogue component output be restricted from full HD output if the copy protection is implemented?

No down res?

Thanks for your response rdinkel. However if you have a look at this thread:

JoeSP reckons the component output will be downrezzed if copy protection is activated. This would be done to stop using some form of HD recorder (recording an analogue component signal) which didn't receive a digital stream with the copy protection information in it.
