Anyone here using MS fax server on their network? We want to shift from a manual fax machine to a system that is mostly paperless. It looks like the standard MS fax system is a bit too basic for our preferences. Outside IT guy is here now setting it up. Seems to be a small problem. Modem we're using is old and tends to overheat, so I'll need to buy a new one online. Local stores don't have modems - had to teach sales critter that a cable modem was not a phone modem, and that serial is not USB (the last they carried). So I'll order a new one online.
Is there a better after market network based fax system that you'd recommend?
We'd like it to:
-screen out and refuse faxes from certain numbers on a list.
-put all faxes into one location on the network, where no one but the administrator can delete items.
-allow anyone to search and print or copy the incoming faxes.
-probably store faxes by date, preferably automatically (1 folder per day).
-send faxes from desktop - Word, etc.
-scan in and send faxes from any desktop.
-maintain address book. MS fax seems to fail in this respect with Contacts.
-maintain record of incoming and outgoing faxes.
