Tales of Vasparia or something like that. I played the demo. It is a cute cell shaded RPG but it seemed pretty cheesy to me.

Ya the tricky balance is that the games the japanese buy don't sell over here

Ace Combat 6 moved consoles in Japan too, but did next to nothing in the states.

Odd, seems so cute and fluffy and geared towards girls so maybe they are the ones who have bought out the consoles there but then again given the odd interests that they have over there and hangups it doesnt surprise me.

Yeah, microsoft's biggest problem with the xbox in japan is that they dont have the main games that they like which is RPGs. MS has started getting more RPGs to that market and console sells picked up... Imagine that.

Sales have since gone back to normal, but another thing to keep in mind is that "Tales" is apparently a storied franchise in Japan, and since this was a 360 exclusive, this seemed to be the equivalent, on a smaller scale, of an exclusive new Final Fantasy game.
