What what the thing that made MTV great when it launched?

The MUSIC VIDEOS!

Now MTV is nothing like the origional, with reality television filling up the day. It's not rare to see music videos on MTV.

While MTV is not back MTV has launched a new website that aims to bring back the Origional MTV.... MTV MUSIC - I Want My MTV

At MTVMUSIC.COM is all the music videos which have aired on MTV. Its a Youtube for Music videos!

I would love to see you get automatically generated playlists so if you wanted music from 1984 you would get it...

I also wish that between videos they would add some of the classic MTV bumpers and commercials...

Like some of these...

To be fair to MTV, with the way music is nowadays, do you really care if they have a video or not? I mean if the song is horrible, a good video RARELY made up for it.

The actual first video played on MTV was actually The Buggles with Video Killed the Radio Star.

Yea I remember when they used to play music video's and then started adding content programming geared towards older teens and gradually did away with video's wich brought about mtv2 wich was supposed to be music video's and nothing else but ofcourse those in charge nixed that idea.

Ahhh, the 80's..Those were the days. "MTV: "Where you hear it... FIRST.."-classic bass line follows. Anyone know what song they took that bass line from? (I'm sure no one probably even cares).............Megadeth-"Peace Sells But Who's Buying" (1986) Listen to the song and you'll recognize it immediately. Well, that's my 2cents of worthless music knowledge!
