Multi sport / college football / blackout

Hi everyone,

I have Dish with the multi sport package and live in New York...
As everyone know the pro games are blacked out, however some other games are available like Arena football, college softball or baseball, etc...

My question is:
Will college football games on those channels be available or blacked out and if so, according to which criteria?

Games on your local RSNs should be in the clear, of course. Big 12 and Pac 10 football games should be in the clear. Small college football games should also be in the clear.

Games on other RSNs that are part of ESPN GamePlan are usually blacked out. In addition, any SEC / ACC games on RSNs should be blacked out due to agreements between the conferences and ESPN.

Note that I say "should" because the blackout rules seem to change every year. Also note that a different set of rules aply to NCAA basketball.

It seems to me that all of the RSN's seemed to carry the same games. In other words, all of the FSN directionals had the same game televised. I ended up dumping the sports pack because of it. There might have been some Div I-AA or Division II games that were different, but the major games were always the same across the country. I never noticed a blackout either, but this was about 2 years ago.

I pony up for the ESPN GamePlan package so I can get ABC and ESPN Plus regionals. Well worth the $110 to me, but might not be for everyone.

Most of the time they all had the same game, It's not worth the money because most as you have found out are blacked out.

There is usually one Big 12 game each week, shown on most of the Fox RSNs. If your local RSN preempts this for a MLB or NHL game, you can watch the game on another RSN. Same thing for the weekly national Pac 10 game.

Also, there are times when a Pac 10 team (Arizona / Arizona St. / USC / UCLA / Washington) will show a minor game on their RSN only. And if you live in the south, you can watch Florida / FSU replays on Fox-Florida or Sun Sports. So overall for me it's worth $6/mo.

Plus I don't usually have time on Saturdays to watch enough football to justify ESPN GamePlan at $110+. Maybe when I retire ...
