Multiple UHF Remotes on an old 5000 receiver?

I have two IR / UHF PRO 4.0 remotes that I want to use with an old Model 5000 receiver. Can this be done on such an old receiver, and if so, how do I assign them to it? I've searched and searched, but couldn't come up with anything helpful at all.

UHF Pro dosen't work with a 5000 on UHF only the IR.

But the 5000 originally came with a 1.0 IR/UHF remote. What is the difference between the old UHF's and the UHF Pro's?

I believe they use different frequencies.
