I have mvr setup through my router I don't have the Deca setup

I wanted to know if I could just connect the two recievers with a cat5 cable and not go through a router. I would just setup any static ip address and run either a crossover or staighthrough cable

I am not going to use the router at all Is this possible
 
Yes, using a crossover cable or 'null modem' style adapter will work. The receivers should assign themselves "Link-Local" addresses (169.254.x.x) in the absence of DHCP, but you could definitely still assign them static IPs.
