I think it would be a great idea for dish to include information about the contract on mydish.com.
Even information stating when the last contract was signed and when it expires would be very useful.
Verizon does that on their web site for every mobile device in contract, then why not DISH?

Because if you're thinking about contracts, you're thinking about leaving. They want you to have to go through a person on the phone to talk you out of leaving to even ask. And they don't want to offer you retentions deals online because they want to give you the least amount required to keep you, but have the option to keep sweetening the pot if their first offer doesn't work.

In other words, knowledge is power, and they don't want you to negotiate from a position of power.

well I mean they'll tell you if you call and ask, it's not that it's a secret, it's that they want to try to talk you out of whatever you might be thinking about doing. if you want to have knowledge before negotiating, call and ask, and then hang up and call back to negotiate whatever you want to negotiate
