NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

The Cincinnati Bearcats are ONE WIN AWAY from making a BCS game.

That would be one of the most incredible Cinderella stories in college football history- the freaking BEARCATS in a BCS game?

Brian Kelly's my Coach of the Year!

I'm upset that Tech's getting killed, but there were a lot of things that occured today that pleased me:

Penn State crushing Michigan State to make the Rose Bowl.

Syracuse beating Notre Dame

The weird ending to Cincinnati/Pittsburgh

NC State crushing UNC :D (Sorry, anders- you insult my team, I insult yours)

Utah running the table

The great finish to Boise State/Nevada

The 'Crapple Cup'

Bob Stoops is this year what Bill Belichick was last year- a coach whose team wants to run up the score.

(BTW, Belichick never got points as high as OU has- the Sooners have had multiple games of 60_ points)

Also, the Sooners will probably score more points than the Pats did.

Okay, let's invoke the mercy rule. Time to bring in the 2nd team. Up to now, Tech might have been able to get back into it. :)

I don't care what donnelly says- the Sooners are a classless team that runs up the score to impress voters.

IMO, Sam Bradford is the modern day David Klingler.

Rationalize your sorry defense any way you want to.

Your defense is not exactly USC-esque.

The Sooners are one-dimensional, and I don't care how great that dimension is.

I hope the Sooners LOSE next week.

Remember, donnelly, your Sooners may look like THE GREATEST TEAM EVER in Norman, but they have been shaky at times away from Owen Field (see the Texas game and the first half against Kansas State)

LMAO :D

The Sooners ????

How about a LOT of the teams of late.
A freind of mine and I were discussing the same thing earlier today, wondering how bad Ohio State was going to be chastized for scoring so much todau while other teams run up the score and are applauded ...

Florida scored 70.
Utah scored 48.
Penn State scored 49

Jimbo

BTW, McCoy, I'm surprised your head didn't explode.:D

In the past it would have, but I kind of saw this one coming. Nutt is doing a great job at Ole Miss, and their true sophomore QB, Jevan Snead, looked like an all-world player today. He was much better than I thought he'd be, going 16-of-25 for 274 yards and two touchdowns. But then again, Troy's QB had those numbers against my Tigers also.

The Tigers have been running on fumes the last few games, and their poor freshman QB is starting to let the booing from the most ignorant of LSU fans get to him. Oh well, a season like this only makes a player want more the next time around. Independence Bowl here we come!

Looks like TT's self-esteem is taking a blow tonight. Think OU hits 80 points to try and outshine Florida's 70 today?

BTW, Sam Bradford will be a stud in the NFL.

I thought the same thing about Jason White, and look what happened to him.

Remember- just because you're a superstar in college does not automatically translate to NFL success!

So, how exactly is the Big 12 South going to determine their representative to face Mizzou in Kansas City two weeks from now?

Texas, Tech, and OU will all have one loss and have won and lost against each other once.

I think so too, except for the fact that he will see BETTER days in college ....
He should be going to the Detroit Lions, where potential great college QB's go to die !

Jimbo

Probably, will be Matthew Stafford to the Lions. But don't rule out Crabtree.:D

If I had to guess on Bradford, I would say the 49ers or Chiefs.

When it comes to college coaches that run up the score, where does Stoops rank?

Would you rank him ahead of Spurrier? Tom Osbourne? Bobby Bowden? the Houston Cougars run-and-shoot coaches?

Before anyone probably says, "Sabres predicted Tech would beat Oklahoma, and it blew up in his face," let me remind you that in July, I said that Texas Tech would beat everyone EXCEPT Oklahoma.

My philosophy is to hope for the best and fear the worst- tonight proves that statement.
