John Chavis from Tennessee. He's done pretty well over the last 20 years. With the talent LSU has in the wings, he should be an improvement over this past season (shouldn't be hard to do).

Michigan hires Syracuse Coach for D-Coodinator

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan has hired Greg Robinson as its defensive coordinator.

The former coach at Syracuse, fired in November after going 10-37 in four seasons, replaces Scott Shafer. Shafer resigned in mid-December after his first season with the Wolverines.

He coordinated a defense that gave up 347 points, the most in school history. The team finished 3-9 in 2008, Rich Rodriguez's first year as Michigan's head coach.

I wonder if Rich Rod had any input on this decision? If so, and the defense isn't improved next year, he's going to be in a lot of heat over this hiring!
