NEED SATELLITE GURU ADVICE

Long story short, I "lost" my 129 due to trees, the guy came out last week, removed the left cylindrical thing on my dish 1000, added a dish 500 catching the 61.5 to supplement HD. So I get home yesterday, and no new HD. Now I am still getting the HD channels that were added about 2 months ago, and I was under the impression you needed the 129 to get all of those. How am I still getting the last round, but not this round? Any suggestions?

New HD was added to 129 and to 72 (not 61.5). If you cannot see 129, you need to add both 61.5 and 72.

I don't think so, they are neighbor's trees. Unless I got a longer pole, I don't know.

Unless they shuffled the stations you should not get the February HD stations, as they are on 129 or 72.7


You might be in a pickle depending on where your locals are coming from.

What's your DMA? We don't want to point you in the wrong direction and make a bad situation much worse.

110/119 is the western arc core satellites with new HD and HD locals being on 129. By repointing the 129 dish to 61.5 you get older HD stations but not new ones as you read they are going on 72.7 now on the eastern arc.

If you had to have 110/119 and 61.5/72.7 you could do two 500's (I think a 500 works for 61.5/72.7). You will need a DP44 switch for 4 satellites, which you probably have the DP34 now.

If you don't need 110/119 then you could get a 1000.4 and pick up 61.5/72.7/77.

Thanks, I called and they're coming out Saturday, of course it's supposed to be raining Saturday.... great day to be searching for signals! Will I be able to get the 72.7 signal on my Dish500 as well as the 61.5 I am currently getting from the east?

The EA dish is a 1000.4 which points to 61.5, 72 and 77 sats. You will not need 119, 110 and 129 should you have line of site.
