. The 501 was great although it's now upstairs and seems to be having a problem with it saying the signal is lost when it isn't and the other recievers work fine might be time to call Dish for some warrenty service. .

It may not be an issue with the reciever, start with checking the connection at the reciever and the switch, if it continues try swapping one of the lines on the switch thats going to your 721 with the one from the 501 and see if tghe problem stays at the 501 or follows over to the 721, if it follows then your problem is either with the coax or the switch, doing this kind of trouble shooting will save you time on a service call from dish.
