New Dishes??

I have seen new Dish network dishs go up in our area, there black and say DISH HD on them, are these new, better?

They are the 1000.4 and a little bigger than then the 1000.2. I replaced my 1000.2 for a 1000.4 western arc and did get an increase in signal strength. It was only a couple of percentage but helped with rain fade a little.

We also have 1000.2 pans now that are black. They look just like the k.4's.

I think they suck. Customers do not really like em either because they stand out too much and that distracts from the rest of the house. people notice them more but they are harder to read from a distance so it is not helping with advertising. and boy do they get hot in the sun!. I would like to see that if Dish is going to keep the black then they need to paint the skew plate/arm and the J arms black too.

Even though the pan is black which makes it hotter, wouldn't it be reflecting less heat and absorbing more helping to save the lnb's?
