You guys bear with me, first time here. I am considering buying a 22" computer monitor but want it to display TV from a 522 dish receiver. Is this possible?

No it wont work. The 522 does not have a VGA output (nor DVI) so you can't plug your monitor into it.

I suppose if you wanted to spend money on extra hardware it would work

Not to be contrary Scott, but it depends on the video card he's running. I use a ATI card with the ATI Multi-media center and use the composite out and it works just fine. I can even "tivo" on the computer.

Thanks guys. I will look at those possibilities. I knew I didn't see place to connect a "D-Sub or DVI-D" from the monitor to the 522. I have a 622 at the other end of the house with a HDMI connection but not needed there. Even if I could afford a 60' HDMI cable. hehe

He didn't say anything about hooking up to a computer with a capture card, only hooking it up to his monitor, which is why I replied the way I did.
