Agree, and you can just not tune to them.
On the other hand, it also takes away precious bandwidth.
Don't you like watching the shopping channels in SD while they try to sell you the amazing picture quality of there 4K Tv telling you folks look at this amazing life like picture it could be yours for no money down, then you think that picture looks terrible on my tv while watching it on over compressed Sd feed. 
Well, I just added this one to my locked out list. Thanks for the new locked out channel DISH. I guess we won't be seeing anything in 4k from them this year. Just more HD infomercial channels.

I agree as you can stream the shopping channels for free in HD using the Roku apps.
HSN as well as QVC are also in HD on my big dish. They have been available in HD for sometime. I guess the more bandwidth you buy from Dish, the more it costs.More and more HD in streaming .
Directv has a infomercial channel in HD and even PPV preview channel in 1080p
