That would be Warners Bros/Discovery. They own the DC material. It would go to HBOmax or whatever future streaming service is kept out of the Warners Discovery merger.
Totally wrong, as OSU said, Warner owns DC, but that is not why they are about to be sold.
The current station would be allowed to carry it until their affiliation deal ends. Then it could be moved. If moved it would likely be subordinate to CBS but who knows.

Once the contract comes due all Nexstar has to do (if they desire) is say "we're not going to negotiate a contract for the 2 hour CW programming with you anymore" and take it in house on a subchannel. Its the same thing that happened in a couple "secondary" NBC affiliates WMGM (Atlantic City, NJ) and WHAG (Hagerstown, MD). Both were in the same DMA and in the shadow of NBC O&O's (WCAU in Philly and WRC in Washington DC) so when the contract came due NBC/Comcast didnt even offer a contract to them.
Its just like when WACY in Green Bay dropped My Network. Pretty much the same thing.
Why wouldn't they just add 2 hours of syndicated programming instead? Its not like they'd lose CBS or NBC programming with 6 or 7 hours a day of network programming.
Again we are dealing with 2 hours of programming a day. WJMN went with My Network and AntennaTV mix along with syndicated shows when they lost CBS. So lets say they get the CW programming from Marks group, again you're dealing with 2 hours of programming. WJMN can keep their AntennaTV fill in programming along with their syndicated shows.
I'm lost here. Why would WFRV simulcast from WJMN? WFRV would make the CW a subchannel. Again nobody is going to drop their Big 4 affiliation for CW.
People are dropping cable subscriptions, streaming services are raising prices and people are buying antennas at record levels. Hmm, what should we do? I know let's get the cheapest crap possible to put on our OTA network! I mean it worked so well with MY Network and ION.RIP CW

i got this clearstream 4 bagger antenna that i can catch whatever no matter what direction i turn it. Only bad thing is all the markets around me have the exact same networks...CW, DABL, FOX, NBC, ION, GRIT. Not complaining just saying...
