That's crazy so now businesses have find a way to stream games ... what is wrong with NFL/EP

I doubt that. Sounds like Everpass just wants it all to themselves now.

Everpass, with the acquisition of Upshow, has made it abundantly clear that streaming access is the subscriber's problem.

This part does not make sense to me..

Streaming technology has yet to demonstrate that it can reliably scale to solve syncing, latency, and bandwidth challenges in these environments. Bar owners have raised concerns about buffering during key plays, screens falling out of sync and inconsistent picture quality during live games. A streaming-only model introduces operational risks that commercial establishments cannot afford on game day.

As DIRECTV retailers have been telling me that all new DIRECTV Business customers are only getting installed with streaming only service, they are not installing Satellite to business anymore.

So if thats the case the same issues would exist for those who now only have DIRECTV streaming instead of Satellite at their business.

As DIRECTV retailers have been telling me that all new DIRECTV Business customers are only getting installed with streaming only service, they are not installing Satellite to business anymore.

The DIRECTV for business streaming section says they still recommend satellite for those with more than 3 TVs or if they want any of the out of market sports packages.

Commercial PPV Events including WWE, AEW and UFC are also satellite only. One of the support articles also recommends satellite if they need their TVs to be in sync.

Yea I was at a bowling alley last summer and they had YTTV i was suprized .

I was like I thought YTTV was residential only...

Unless someone in the government intervenes, it is off the table for those hospitality outfits seeking access to NFLST for future seasons. That's a compelling reason to solve any streaming paradigm problems now.

So, EverPass was saying that ST will be on Streaming, which we all knew.
They are pushing businesses to go streaming and invest whatever to get thier internet up to snuff ...

Does this mean that those with Sat that have/had accounts last year are out of luck ?
Is Sat not allowed to show this year to businesses ?

Having a DIRECTV account still entitles the business to access DIRECTV's content (assuming it is more suitable than other options).

They're just going to have to do as the flashing neon sign said to get NFLST.

Well, Everpass doesn't care about Directv, but many Bars and Restaurants do ...

The NFL isn't the only thing on TV at Bars ... a huge part is Sports oriented, but not all of it, D* offers them everything.
Everpass is Only a few sports.

I'm thinking that the Sync and not enough bandwidth is potentially a Major issue for most bars.

Now, mind you this was many years ago, but when we were putting in internet MOST businesses, were only running 1.5 or 3mg for internet, as they really only used it for the CC machine and in some cases to run the register.
They really didn't want the Customer on thier internet.

Now days its quite different, but I can imagine internet speeds for a bar is Not thier Top priority.

I suppose this might be an issue if you have powerful sound systems associated with each screen, but I'm not convinced that audio synchronization is otherwise all that important. Talking heads isn't really an issue with most of what is being watched in bars and taverns.

Fast forward many years, and now everyone has access to gigabit speed or better (including satellite and wireless).

They really didn't want the Customer on thier internet.

Nobody's forcing them to offer per-customer streaming access. Wired networking (including MoCA) and/or a Qos-capable router can address that simply and effectively.

Now days its quite different, but I can imagine internet speeds for a bar is Not thier Top priority.

I can imagine that lacking sufficient bandwidth represents a severe competitive disadvantage. This is more or less the same as not having DIRECTV ten years ago would have been a real problem.

I understood that, and I maintain my position that it isn't a huge deal with programming that typically doesn't beg for lip sync.

Given that many fans have long viewed the game through an MVPD yet listened to the play-by-play on broadcast (or satellite) radio, I believe, makes my case nicely.

And then there are the Gamblers who want things Right Now.
Also those youngsters that are hooked on the Bet 360 type of thing, where you can bet Play to Play ...
There can be a :30 second delay just from Computer to Tv ...

I use to watch my Directv and talk with a friend in Fla and we would see a TD a Good :30-60 seconds before.

Now these are not Exact examples, but they are related ...

If your just watching 1 tv, no issues, because you don't see whats going on elsewhere.

I can have the same TV show on in the living room and the bedroom and have different sync.

Then again, it sounds like what your saying, is, it's Ok, doesn't matter if theres lag/sync issues ... which in the grand scheme of things, I guess it doesn't matter ...
