Motorola’s semiconductor unit will supply chipsets for a wireless adapter for use with Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP. The 2.4 GHz radio frequency chipset will let as many as five players link up wirelessly with one another, Motorola said Friday. The chipset contains a 32-bit RISC architecture-based processor and a RF transceiver designed to work in the TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) protocol.

So would this make it the first handheld gaming system to be multiplayer to allow gaming between multiple handhelds? The whole gaming system industry is going to follow on this one. I would not be surprised if in the near future if they came out with a gaming system like this to play on the cellular wirless network against people around the U.S. or world.

Nope. Check out Nokia's N-Gage which comes out in a few more days for about $300.00 US.

This will be a reality in October of this year.
