I just got my Dish Network installed a few days ago.
It is a vip 222 receiver.
I have a Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV, and I connect the receiver to TV using a HDMI cable.

However, all HD Channels are in SD format (720x480) on my TV, such as channel 301 and 303.

What's the potential problem here? How do I get HD picture on my TV?

Thanks,
Jim

Try pressing menu, then going to system setup, then HDTV, and make sure that it is set to output at 1080i or 720p, whatever your preference is. It might be set to 720p right now.

Hope it helped!

As suggested, make sure you have output set to 1080i or 720P. For these channels 1080i is preferred.

There should be two channels for 301 and 303. Are you sure you selected the HD one? Perhaps mapdown is not active in which case these channels only show up in the 9000's.
