no signal on viewsat extreme

hello,i just bought a view sat extreme off ebay and i can get a signal.i aimed it at amc 15 and set the reciver to amc 15. When i got it hooked up only one of the two sinnal meters was reading 100.the other meter was fluctuating around 40. I tested the dish with another reciver and it works. I did a factory reset and moved the tranponders around but still nothing on the second meter.

If you mean the Quality meter, something is amiss. Are you aiming at a known, working transponder, like Macys ( if you're still on 105)
If the dish/lnb is working for another receiver, then you have something up in the viewsat, check your lnb LO setting, etc.

I tested the dish with another reciver and it works.

Need details. Do you have the same Transponder entered in both receivers?
What type of receiver?
Go the the Sat Setup Menu in the working receiver, and make note of the LNB Setup
Connect the Viewsat to the Working Receiver's Loop Out connection, and enter the same LNB info from the Working Receiver.

If it has working firmware in it, I wouldn't worry too much about updating anything. Viewsat is dead anyway, so any firmware updates you find will be 2yrs old or more. Real fta doesn't need those 'frequent updates" lol like the hackers did.
