I actualy think that WP 8 isa fine OS but there just are not enough apps and that sares away many people. Nokia (pre acquisition) washedging its bets and who can blame them. I suspect that WP will eventually wither away and die in spite of its virtues.

The acquisition was at the end of about 3 years of a former and now current MS Senior staff reigning as CEO. A period where revenues dropped by a positively alarming 40%.

Hedging bets? Maybe. Or the cold harsh reality that they can't move Windows handsets.

Microsoft does have a big bucket o' cash to throw at the problem, but I don't know how much cash they are willing to throw at it.
