I have heard that some folks on small out islands in the Bahamas have been able to make an antenna out of RG-6 coax and point it towards Freeport, Grand Bahama (about 50 miles away) where there must be a dish to bring in tv which is then distributed via actual cable throughout Grand Bahama.
Once someone on this out island makes this antenna and they point it towards Freeport, Grand Bahama, they set their digital tv's to scan and are able to get Miami tv channels and a couple Bahamas channels on 12.2 through 12.7.
I also heard this works between some out islands off Abaco and Marsh Harbour, but was then told only in certain cases, because the output signal can be sent in a specific direction (I did not know transmitters in this case could be set to send out signals in a specific direction.)
Anyone know if the last sentence is true and or where I would get more information on how this might work?
Thanks in advance.
