I am moving in a few weeks and unfortunatley there is no cable or dsl. So I was thinking the oneway internet such as SkyWay.

I have read some very bad things about SkyWay on here and am wondering who else exists out there for this service.

What about Wildblue satellite, or Hughes net?
I suscribe to Wildblue and only pay $50 a month. I had to buy the equipment.
If anyone is considering Wild Blue, move quickly. It seems that they're running out of bandwidth again and may slow or stop new subscriptions soon.

Does anyone still offer one-way access anymore? It may not be their standard offering, but Satway offers two-way.

It seems like SkyWay service has gotten better since their move to AMC4 or at least that si what I am reading. Can anyone confim that?

I didnt realize there is a broadband forum, would one of you kindly move this thread to there as that is where I think it belongs.

Thanks

When properly done, one way sat receive and use of a dialup phone
in the 20 to 26 kbps speed can perform much better than Hughes or
WildBlue. You're not really getting that much speed on your satellite
transmit side, truth be said. And the satellite transmit is probably adding
anywhere from 1 to 2 seconds of delay to your responses that eventually
come back on satellite receive. I have been testing a fairly new service
with the above parameters, and the first thing that I notice is a lack of
latency (little or no delay because the phone line is transmitting info to
the Internet, rather than a satellite link), and much better reliability.
When combined with the cost of a spare dedicated dialup line, it's in line
with the lower priced packages of WildBlue and Hughes...but typically
100 to 200 Kbps faster than either on the receive side, especially late
at night, when the variation absolutely soars.

wondering how to connect to satellite one way,
but we can use the one way internet like two way connection
down stream from satellite and upstream from another source (like dial up or adsl)
how to work and where i can fine provider for one way satellite internet connection.
my location in from indonesia

Yes' return would typically be via dial-up. There may be a smattering of GSM/2G type returns, but I'd be surprised to see that outside population centers. A site that offers more international sat Internet info is SatSig
