only getting sat. 110

i have a problem when i take my 301 receiver to my hunting cabin, i can only lock onto sat. 110. sat. 119 has decent signal but wont lock on. everything works fine at home any ideas on what could be wrong?

The dish at the cabin needs to be reaimed or the lnb for 119 has gone bad or the coax/connection on the coax from 119 has gone bad or a bad port on the switch. If you receiver works at one location, it cannot be that. Look at the dish and 119 lnb.

It could be a LOS issue. If the cabin is in the woods, there might be a tree blocking 119.

Have you run a switch test at the cabin?

boba- i ran a switch test and it only found one sat.-110

chainblu-thats possible i'll have to check next time i'm up there

garys-i took the lnb home and hooked it up to that satellite and it works fine, the cable and connections are new and its a dp twin lnb with the switch built in so since it works at my home i'll assume its not that.

if i try to reaim the dish i will loose a lot of signal strenght on 110 and when i put it to 119 it says not locked wrong sat. 110

Sounds like the dish isn't aligned correctly since it is picking up 110 on the 119 lnb. Foil over the 110 lnb and then adjust the dish to peak 119. Then unfoil the 110 lnb and do a switch test.
