Very cool find! You can rotate the earth and see it from a different perspective.

I didn't realize that there were so many inclined orbit geosynchronous satellites. I wonder what is on them?

Elon needs to develop a way to retrieve or destroy all that debris. Perhaps send it hurtling back to burn up in the atmosphere

It's definitely a potential collision problem, especially in low earth orbit (where the space station is).

No issue with blocking the Sun, though. The graphic display makes it look like the whole sky is getting filled up with stuff, but that's just the effect of the graphic -- on the scale shown, each dot would be hundreds of miles across, rather than a few feet across. And many of the chunks of space debris are only inches across.

As far as cleanup goes, there are efforts underway. Here's one:

Hopefully, sooner the better bring up droids for clean up on space junks and dump it into for reentry into Earth's atmosphere, or even the sun itself.

And yes, there will be a space junkyard for recycling or get spare parts, there's money to be made!

The challenge with sending this stuff to the Sun is achieving escape velocity from Earth. Lots of energy would be required to do that, whereas very little energy would be required to trigger a de-orbit burn and have the stuff disintegrate in Earth's atmosphere.

Besides, wait a few billion years, and the Sun comes to us!

Funny thing how orbital mechanics, most people's thinks sending space junk into sun is easy, due to Sun's gravity field strength to pull the space junk in!

Hopefully our Civilization will reach Star Trek technology level at some point in the future, assuming we don't blow our ass off.

But importantly thing is stay positive!
