When I install my new 36 in. dish in April, I will route my ota through the multi-switch which is powered. Can I really expect better reception because of the multi-switch being amplified? Have any of you tried this?

Is the multiswitch amplified for VHF/UHF frequencies? You need to check the specs for the switch just because it is powered dosen't mean it has a TV amplifier built in.

I can't tell you the technical in's and out's of this, but I have an OTA hooked up to all of my TV's through an amplifier and a powered multi-switch, except for one. That one is connected through an in-line amplifier without the multi-switch, and it is a shorter run than the other TV's. It has the worst reception. So as far as I can tell, the powered multi-switch does seem to add an extra 10-20 points on the meter.
