Did I read somewhere that you can use other receivers with the Hopper now or was it just a dream?

The 211 is the only receiver you can use with a Hopper setup. And, I believe it is only one of them...

Went on a service change a few weeks ago. Customer had 1 hopper/ 2 joeys. Work order had me replace one of the joeys with a VIP612 receiver. Just thought that was interesting.

That makes no sense. Did it work?

It could not work as a literal replacement for a Joey (same wiring). But it could be run into the switch directly....

I think Schermann is asking about the activation on the same account as a hopper. I believe in the past VIP equipment wouldn't activate except for the 211k family of receivers for tailgaters.
