Hi Everyone,

Background - Switched from DirecTV after 15 years to Dish to save $50 a month for two years. We never had Dish before and thought we would try it.

On September 18th we had a Hopper Plus, 3 Joey 4s, and a Joey4 wireless installed in our home.

Here are the issues we have had since installation.

Hopper plus version H325 and plus version P107

Volume changes drastically between channels. One channel you can barely hear it and the next it is too loud. We have to adjust the volume after changing each channel. No volume leveling option with the plus box.

We set the option to not show skipped recordings in the manage recordings list. The next day it would revert to showing skipped recordings again. The setting did not stay. Had to keep changing the setting for skipped to off.

Video Issues. Watching certain programs, the picture looks stretched to fill the screen.

Sometimes the video would freeze for a few seconds while watching live Tv or a recorded program.

Playback issues with both recorded and live Tv. Fast forwarding 15x would freeze or go really slow for a few seconds and then go fast past where you can stop it.

When selecting a recorded program that has multiple episodes recorded the cursor points to the newest episode, so you have to scroll down to the bottom to see the next episode to watch.

After 10 days I removed the plus box from the Hopper 3 to see how it would work by itself without the plus box attached.

The volume issue went away. Now have a volume leveling option in menu. set it to on.

The skipped recordings issue also went away. It keeps the option off.

Video issues went away. The shows that looked stretched now have a black box around them, but the picture is not stretched.

Most of the freezing issues have gone away. The fast forwarding is so much faster almost too fast now.

When selecting a recorded program that has many episodes recorded the cursor goes to the bottom of the list, so you just select the next episode. No more scrolling to

the bottom, like with the plus box attached.

Issues with the Joey 4 wireless receiver version P607.

Every few days the Joey 4 wireless comes up with a 1303 error after turning on the TV. It loses its Wi-Fi connection to the dish Wi-Fi hub. The orange light is off on the hub. You must press the WPS button on the hub and power cycle the Joey 4 wireless to get it to connect again. Otherwise, this box works well with version P607.

Issues with the Joey 4 receiver’s version P507.

Black screen after turning on TV. Must press channel up to get live TV working and a picture to appear.

Scrolling through the Guide using the channel + / - button will sometimes freeze and then after several seconds take off and blow through the guide until you hit a button again. Very annoying. Happens to all Joey 4 receivers.

Volume issue where each channel is vastly different in volume. No Volume leveling function.

Occasionally after tuning on the TV and changing the channel to get a picture, a menu displays that shows the different buffers and you have to select an available buffer to watch live TV. Why??

One of the Joey 4 receivers is connected to a new 4K HDR TV. It shows a HDR banner when the TV is turned on and connected to the Joey4. If We switch to channel 540-542 we get a message that says something like the TV doesn't support 4K. If we hit the guide button the screen is just black when program is suppose to be playing.

Hopefully these issues will be resolved soon. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

The "Woes" of an early adopter. Hope things get better for you but take heart in that you are not alone! A major product(s) fail is not common for Dish. I'm sure the tech department has not had much sleep lately.
