If I have an oval dish, but my reciever only sees the one satellite, am I missing out on any other channels if I just have basic service? Is it worth going on the roof and repositioning the thing?

If you have TC or TC plus and no HD I believe all your stuff is on 101. No other sats needed. However,,according to the new pricing brochure,HD locals (when they actually become available) will be included with standard TC package prices. So it may be of benefit to get it focused on everything it is supposed to be.Of course you will need an HD receiver too.
It also depends if you get you locals and what satellite they are on. My opinion is if the weather is nice just go ahead and do the right thing by getting it aimed correctly, why wait.
Are you sure it is not pointed right?Maybe the receiver is only configured to look for 1 satellite.Try going into your menu and setting dish type to 3 LNB if it is not already.
