Panasonic Replay and Dish Network

I've finally had it with the poor quality of my cable signal and am looking into my satellite options. Right now the sticking point is my stand alone Replay, and I can't get a straight answer form either Directv or Dish.

Has ayone had any luck andor advise on whether I can use my Panasonic Replay with Standard Def Dish Network?

Yes you can use a replay W/dish but it is a pain.

The receiver must be on at all times & most newer receivers turn themselves off after a periond of time & have the floating "press select to continue"which is what you will end up recording if you can not disable the auto shutdown.

So my advice would be get a 501, 508, or 721 receiver, built in dvr & no fee much more conveinent.

But if you want to try with your replay channel changing will be slow, & the receiver must remain on all the time or you will miss your recording.

I've used a ReplayTV with a SD Dish receiver with no problem. I've gotten around the receiver turning off by itself by setting up an auto-tune channel at 4am. This will turn the receiver back on if it's gone off.
