Probably gonna be pricey though! But should be a fine display.

So Panasonic uses LG panels, but apparently not the same panels that LG uses?

Could be a different specification or just hand-picked.

Did I miss the part where Panasonic had reversed their decision to leave the US consumer TV market?

The marketing words "perceived black level response" leave me cold.

No DV is a killer for me at this point. I'll keep waiting and looking for my bedroom replacement.

S~

When the 2015 Panny OLED (LG Panel) came out, it was actually superior to the 2015 LG models. Its like Sony LCD's, they get the panel and then the rest is theirs, and it usually performs very nicely.

I expect these to be pricey. As far as DV, Im not so sure DV is going to get much steam. Samsung has no interest, Panny, no interest, Sony???

Wow sounds like another winner for Panasonic....... but not in the USA.... at this time.... or anytime. Panasonic just loves to give us the finger....

Yeah the the OLED thing is way to early to see how it does overall the LED's Tech has advance enough that it looks just as good and they keep improving it. I think in the long run OLED will be like Plasma was they just did not sell enough that eventually manufactures stop making them.

I'll be buying in Canada like I did for the DX900.

I expect that the claimed power consumption advantages will keep OLED too good to miss and they'll have to figure out a way to make it work. Remember that one of the things that really put the hurt on Plasma was California's power consumption limitations that went into effect in 2013.

Sony has been on the fence and I think if they see an opening for them to take back the high-end consumer market, they'll do whatever it takes. They are reportedly committed to producing DV content on the content side.

Yeah saw they are jumping on the OLED as well we will see how it does the next year or so..

I just don't understand this decision. Very frustrating.

I suspect rights were sold. Like somebody else has the rights to use the Panasonic name for consumer goods in the US.
