Pause, or lack thereof, on 722

So up until about a month ago, all was well. Now my 722 (with 46HD hours free on the drive) will constantly "drop" pausing TV. You'll hit Pause, all will be fine, then suddenly it'll flick back to Live TV, with no rewing. Doesn't matter what channel, be they FTA re-broadcast, SD, HD, whatever. Very annoying.

Our Fox HD re-broadcast is nearly impossible to record. Constant stuttering, A/V sync, video corruption. Other FTA chans seem okay. Any ideas?

Might be the hard drive going bad.

your box is going bad ... hit up dish and tell them... they'll send you out another one.

Yep, probably a bad spot in the HDD in the buffer area.

well before assuming its bad, do the troubleshooting.
hard reset - unplug receiver for 1 minute, plug it back in, this can do wonders.
soft reset - hold power button down (on receiver) for 10 seconds.

Will try the hard reset... no luck with the soft. If not, oh well, back to Dish with it! Let's see how we go.

Well, no joy. In fact, it's got worse, and now will not rewind any channel, at all. So time to get a new one.

Hard drive seems to be the issue. Was no problems convincing Dish of this, they had a new one organized by UPS within 5 minutes, scheduled for delivery day after tomorrow. Can't complain about that!
