Exclusive Person of Interest Sneak Peek: "Our Cold War Just Turned Hot" http://www.tvguide.com/News/Person-of-Interest-Amy-Acker-1091414.aspx
War is coming on Tuesday's Person of Interest. On the midseason finale, the Machine used Root (Amy Acker) as an avatar to have a one-on-one chat with fellow artificial super intelligence Samaritan. When those talks devolved, Samaritan decided to show the Machine just how quickly it could create global chaos by setting its sights on the U.S. stock exchange. In the exclusive sneak peek below, Root maps out for Finch (Michael Emerson) just how serious this threat is — the collapse of the financial system could create revolts, starvation... and war. "Our cold war just turned hot," Root says.Fortunately, the Machine has created a fail-safe for Samaritan's attacks. Unfortunately, it has to be deployed on-site at the stock exchange and Team Machine is down a person with Shaw (Sarah Shahi) in the wind.

Person of Interest Star Discusses Pregnant Pause, Grapples With 'Death' Question, Writes 's Epitaph https://tv.yahoo.com/news/person-interest-star-discusses-pregnant-235323644.html
The following contains spoilers from this week’s Person of Interest. On Tuesday night, CBS’ Person of Interest — as it is now almost expected to do during its “trilogy” events — dealt viewers a devastating blow when Shaw put her life on the line (and seemingly lost that bargain) in the name of assuring the rest of Team Machine safe escape from Samaritan’s equally trigger-happy troops. The bad news? Viewers may have seen the last of Shaw, at least among the living. The good news: The character’s exit was orchestrated for the most joyous of reasons, as Sarah Shahi is pregnant with twins. TVLine spoke with the actress about delivering her doubly good news to her bosses, getting an amazing death (or “death”) scene, Shaw’s tombstone and what, exactly, was behind her kissing Root.

Person of Interest Bosses, Star on Shocking Exit and That Big Kiss http://www.tvguide.com/news/person-...-jonathan-nolan-1091505.aspx?rss=breakingnews
[WARNING: The following story contains spoilers from Tuesday's episode of Person of Interest. Read at your own risk.]We're starting to notice a bloody pattern on Person of Interest.A little more than a year after the show shocked fans by killing off original cast member Taraji P. Henson, another major character seemingly bit the dust on Tuesday's episode. Although Team Machine fought diligently to stop Samaritan's efforts to crash the stock market, Shaw (Sarah Shahi) made the ultimate sacrifice as she volunteered to override the elevator switch that would lead the rest of her team to safety. In so doing, Shaw was riddled with bullets and, just moments before the elevator doors closed, was seen staring into the barrel of Samaritan operative Martine's (Cara Buono) gun. While debate rages about whether or not Shaw is actually dead, she certainly won't be appearing on POI in the near future. In fact, this entire storyline was crafted after Shahi informed the show's producers she was expecting twins."Our fans think we're sadists who like killing off our characters. In this case, we had no choice," executive producer Jonathan Nolan tells TVGuide.com. "Our hands were tied. The circumstances of Shaw's character and what she does — being a lethal operative who goes around the world and exterminates people and often puts her life in peril — kind of makes her irresponsible as a maternal figure on the show. Sarah was the first person to say, "There's no way we can write this into the character," and we agreed."So, is Shaw really dead? "You have to stay tuned," executive producer Greg Plageman says. "The great part of doing a serialized show is that you have people waiting to find out what happens. We'd hate to spoil that for the audience, but there is a little bit of ambiguity about what happens after those elevator doors close." As for how long that ambiguity will last, Nolan quips, "What's the earliest you can put two twins on an airplane?"Regardless of Shaw's fate, the producers did give fans a huge moment between Shaw and Root (Amy Acker), as the much-'shipped duo finally locked lips before Shaw's heroics kicked in. "I directed their first scene together on the show, and it was abundantly clear to me that there was a great deal of chemistry between those two characters," Nolan says. "So from the beginning, for me, that tension has always been there. We felt like the fans were invested in that relationship. You don't feel like you can walk away from something like that without giving some kind of consummation."So how will the team — especially Root — deal with the loss of Shaw? " I think all of our characters' reaction to what happened in those final moments vary," Plageman says. "And I think that's an interesting jump-off point for the next episode. But you really don't want to piss off someone like Root. There's going to be hell to pay."Keep reading to see what Shahi had to say about the "bittersweet" decision to step away from the show and whether or not she thinks Shaw is really dead.

Dead or Alive? 'Person of Interest' Star Sarah Shahi Dishes on Shaw's Future
Tuesday night’s “Person of Interest” came to a dramatic end as viewers saw Sameen Shaw take what looked like a fatal bullet! Is it the end of the road for Shaw?Maybe not. As it turns out, there’s a real-life reason actress Sarah Shahi, who plays the tough-as-nails agent, is stepping away from the show… she’s having twins! Video Here...http://extratv.com/videos/0_4vt5q8n4
Watch the video for Sarah and the “POI” team’s take on the heart-pounding episode and what the future holds for Shaw.

Person of Interest Bosses Talk Shaw's Exit/Possible Return, 'Pissed-Off' Root and a 'Hard Left Turn' Ahead http://tvline.com/2015/01/10/person-of-interest-shaw-dead-returns-root-reaction/
When Sarah Shahi revealed to her Person of Interest bosses that she was expecting (twins!), their reaction to losing a key player went from an initial “Oh, s–t” to an opportunistic “Oh, yeah!”Because, they tell TVLine, the CBS drama had been looking to off a major character this season. “We’re not making that show” where “nothing happens,” showrunner Jonah Nolan explains. On the heels of Shahi sharing her own story about how her pregnant pause gave birth to a shocking twist, Nolan and co-showrunner Greg Plageman here discuss the team “turmoil” ahead for Shaw’s teammates, that pair of unexpected liplocks, the mystery “bang” and a possible (semi-?)resurrection.

Exclusive Person of Interest Sneak Peek: "It's Just You and Me Again, Mr. Reese" http://www.tvguide.com/news/exclusive-person-of-interest-sneak-peek-guilty/
Person of Interest is going back to square one.In the exclusive first look at Tuesday's episode (10/9c, CBS) above, Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Finch (Michael Emerson) lament the absence of Root (Amy Acker) and the lack of leads on Shaw (Sarah Shahi). But they've got a bigger problem: There's a huge backlog of numbers (several of them dead or in jail) that the team missed during its fight with Samaritan.Making matters worse, Finch's cover identity, Professor Whistler, has been called for jury duty, leaving Reese with only Fusco (Kevin Chapman) to call on. Or so he thinks. "After everything that's happened, perhaps it's best if we left him out of our operations... for now," Finch says. And given all the team's recent losses, Reese must agree. "When we first started you told me we'd both wind up dead," he says. "This is worse. You're right. If we're shorthanded, we're shorthanded. We're not bringing anyone else into this." It's just you and me again, Mr. Reese," Finch concludes. Will the duo be able to handle the load alone? Click play above. Person of Interest airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS.

Person of Interest: to Return! https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/person-interest-spoiler-return-162134914.html
CBS’ Person of Interest will offer its loyal fans a little cookie on April 14, with the return of a favorite character.Taraji P. Henson, who this past TV season lorded over Fox’s Empire, will reprise her role as NYPD detective Joss Carter, TVGuide.com reports.Of course, Carter was famously and fatally gunned down in a November 2013 episode, so Henson will be appearing in new flashbacks, as Reese works a cold case left unsolved by his onetime cohort-of-sorts.

SDCC: ‘Person of Interest’ Drops the Mic With Action-Packed Season 5 http://spinoff.comicbookresources.c...st-drops-the-mic-with-action-packed-season-5/
It has a huge fan base and is one of the most technologically aware shows on network television, which made CBS’ “Person of Interest” a perfect fit for Comic-Con International in San Diego. The drama’s upcoming season may be shortened to just 13 episodes, but juding from the footage shown during the convention presentation, there will still be plenty of intensity and surprises as Reese, Finch, Fusco and Root try to take down the evil A.I. Samaritan while also uncovering the truth about the whereabouts of their friend Shaw.Appearing on the panel were series creator and executive producer Jonathan Nolan (“The Dark Knight”), showrunner and executive producer Greg Plageman, executive producer and writer Denise Thé and stars Jim Caviezel (John Reese), Michael Emerson (Harold Finch), Kevin Chapman (Detective Lionel Fusco) and Amy Acker (Root).Last season saw the rise of Samaritan, the fall of The Machine and the shocking pseudo-return of ?Taraji P. Henson’s Detective Carter. What the new season will hold is anyone’s guess — but the panelists gave fans a few clues.Nolan seemed moved by the warm response as he took the stage, saying “There’s nothing like seeing how invested the fans are in the world we built. It’s awesome.”Moderator Matt Fowler asked Caviezel what it was like playing Reese in the emotionally fraught fourth season, which saw him lose friends and come to terms with his love for the fallen Detective Carter. “This was a challenging season for John Reese,” he replied. “Losing Carter and really coming to terms with his feelings too late. But at this point, it’s survival. This will be our quickest, action-packed year — 13 episodes instead of 23 — but the action will be there.”

Person of Interest: Sarah Shahi Confirmed for Full-Time Return https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/person-interest-sarah-shahi-confirmed-035603573.html
Reason No. 39 why Person of Interest needs to return sooner rather than later: Shaw is back, for real.Sarah Shahi, who has been on maternity leave from the CBS drama since the middle of Season 4, is returning for much of the coming run, the actress told TVLine at CBS’ Television Critics Association press tour party on Monday night.“I go back in September — full-time,” Shahi shared. “I’ll probably do eight or nine” of the shortened season’s 13 episodes.

Rejoice! Person of Interest Is Bringing Back Shaw For Most of Season 5 http://io9.com/rejoice-person-of-interest-is-bringing-back-shaw-for-m-1723289283
Well, the best show on CBS just got even better: When Sarah Shahi left the show in the middle of season four it was for an unspecified period of maternity leave. But she’ll be back as a regular for season five — which may very well be the show’s last.Shahi told TV Line, “I go back in September — full-time,” adding that she’s probably going to do eight or nine of the truncated season. She also admitted that she had no idea how the show will deal with her return, but we can safely assume that they’ve had one in their back pocket for awhile. After all, they filmed the reveal that Shaw was still alive before she “died.”It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out, since the show was only renewed as a midseason replacement, and CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler said today that the number of episodes hasn’t been decided yet. Nor do we know for sure that it’s the final season, although Tassler also said, “We’re not anywhere near having to determine what the last story line will be, but we’ll talk about it when we get there.” Which is promising only in that it at least sounds like there will be enough notice that the writers and producers will have time to plan out a series finale.

Person Of Interest: Will Season 5 Be the Show's Last? https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/person-interest-season-5-shows-190800668.html
CBS still hasn't made a decision regarding the long-term future of TV.com favorite Person of Interest. The series was renewed in May, but the news that it was being held for midseason immediately sparked speculation among the show's fans that Season 5 would be its last. CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler told reporters Monday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that the number of episodes, which many believe will clock in around 13, has not been set, nor has the network decided if this is the end for Reese and Finch.

Person of Interest Cast, EPs Tease Possible Series Finale, Bringing the Machine Back to Life http://tvline.com/2015/07/14/person-of-interest-season-5-cast-interview-series-finale-spoilers/
Don’t be dismayed by CBS’ decision to cut Person of Interest‘s Season 5 order to just 13 episodes. The reduced workload may actuallyinvigorate the “spirits and energies” of the show’s cast and crew, star Michael Emerson told our Michael Ausiello at TVLine’s Comic-Con suite at the Hard Rock Hotel.Still, EP Greg Plageman conceded, the Season 5 finale “could be the series finale as well” — and he’s already envisioned how the series’ final moments might play out, despite his belief that there’s still “a lot more story to tell.”Whether Season 6 comes to pass or not, though, right now, the Person of Interest writers’ room is grappling with how The Machine might be brought back to life — and how Harold will relate to it in its new form.

Person of Interest Season 5 Sneak Peek Finds the Team Trading Faces http://tvline.com/2015/10/11/person-of-interest-season-5-sneak-peek/
The Machine…. is having issues, as seen in this first look at Season 5 of Person of Interest. When last we tuned into the CBS drama, Finch had crammed Her into a briefcase, a very risky proposition only outweighed by the alternative — the certainty that she would die at the Samaritan team’s hand.So how is The Machine coping, weeks after the fact? Press play on the sneak peek above to get a taste of the visual recognition bugs She is still working through, affording the series’ cast the chance to slip into one another’s shoes, sensible suits and horn-rimmed eyewear.Person of Interest Season 5 will premiere midseason, day and time TBD.

Person of Interest: Sarah Shahi teases more Root and Shaw moments in season 5 http://www.ew.com/article/2015/10/12/person-of-interest-sarah-shahi-root-and-shaw-moments-season-5
Though Person of Interest won’t be back until midseason, fans can already look forward to Sarah Shahi’s return as Shaw and a deeper dive into the M.I.A. character’s relationship with Root (Amy Acker). Shahi and Acker, along with castmates Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel, and Kevin Chapman stopped by the EW and SiriusXM studio at New York Comic Con Sunday to preview the fifth season of the CBS drama and to tease some juicy upcoming moments. “There’s some really nice Root/Shaw stuff coming up,” Shahi said. “I think some things that the fans have been waiting for, I think some exploration that the fans deserve to see at this point, so that was a pretty big thing that we recently filmed.” While the actresses wouldn’t reveal whether viewers can look forward to another liplock between Root and Shaw, Acker emphasized their characters’ connection. “For Team Machine, we’ve all been searching for Shaw, so we have this real dynamic between, do we put our energy into finding Shaw, or saving the Machine,” she said. “That’s where this season picks up, and it’s a real struggle for my character.”Emerson then pointed out that the truncated fifth season could be the show’s last, given its move to midseason. But even if the show’s headed toward a series finale, he tells fans not to worry, because the show will go out with countless twists and turns. “I think something that is exciting to look forward to is this may be the last 13 episodes of the show ever,” he explained. “So there’s going to be some climaxes, there’s going to be some wrapping up, [and] I assume casualties, transformations, endings of all sorts.”

Person of Interest Is Probably Canceled, Says J.J. Abrams http://www.tv.com/shows/person-of-i...erest-canceled--145236478714/?ftag=YHF764e441
Our worst fears have been confirmed... maybe. As we wait for any bit of information from CBS about a premiere date for Person of Interest's fifth season, we've received some rather grim details. POI executive producer J.J. Abrams, fresh off directing the biggest movie in the entire galaxy, says he thinks Season 5—whenever it airs—will be the show's last."My guess is [Season 5] is the final season," Abrams told TV Line at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday. "The only heartbreak there is how much good story there was to come if it were to have continued."
Ouch. He continued to toy with our hearts when he said that the writers approached Season 5 as though it was the final season but that it could go on longer if the ratings miraculously give CBS reason to bring it back for more. Or, more likely, if another outlet decides to pick it up.

PERSON OF INTEREST: SEASON 5 SEES RETURN OF CARRIE PRESTON...Finch's ex will appear in the Season 5 premiere. http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/01...ampaign=Feed:+ign/articles+(IGN+All+Articles)
Preston plays the role of Harold Finch’s ex-fiancée Grace, who has guest-starred in various past episodes of Person of Interest.CBS renewed Person of Interest for a truncated 13-episode season, but hadn’t decided if would end with Season 5.Last week at the TCA (Television Critics Association), Person of Interest executive producer J. J. Abrams told IGN he thought it would be the show's final season. A few days later, CBS president Glenn Geller told IGN he didn’t know if it would indeed be the final season, stating, “It hasn’t aired yet.”Person of Interest: Season 5 is expected to air sometime this Spring.
