I know that Playon works great. But so far, my only recording won't play on the Hopper though it works fine on my bluray player.

I have had a few recordings that the hopper won't pick up. Still a great value for me. I use to record Netflix and transfer to my Kindle to watch when I travel.

Bought this too. Real price was $50 for HD Lifetime, but my laptop doesn't seem to be powerful enough for HD recordings. I have one recording that's a little fuzzy, but it streams fine to Rokus on my home network. Not sure what the Hopper can play, but make sure you're recording .mp4 and not whatever file type the Play Later software uses.
