If you don't have a PocketDISH yet what are you waiting for? This thing blows the IPOD Video away because you can record ANY show you want to our PocketDISH and enjoy it anywhere! (With the Video Ipod you have to PAY for each show you upload to your player)

Anyways Dish has started enabling the Record Link feature which allows your PocketDISH to be control by many of Dish Networks receivers! The attached file give you tips and tells you how to use this Remote Link feature!

BTW today Dish Network lowered the MSRP on the PocketDISH units! (And also remember there are rebates available as well bringing down the costs even more!!

Thanks to the folks at Dish Network for this file.

I'm cheap...I'm waiting for the 7" Pocketdish to be drop down to the $99 price point. Seriously, if I could find a way to watch the Pocketdish safely while making my 1 hour and 15 minute daily commute then I would. Driving 60+ mph through those winding back roads in order to avoid that beltway traffic and watching something on the Pocketdish cannot be good for my health.

Has anybody successfully used remote link to record to their pocketdish?

I've been trying to use an 811 & so far nothing has recorded.

Any useful suggestions?

I have an Ipod video and you can buy software to convert any sort of video to mpg4 that they use on the Ipod. You can even convert your DVD's and watch them on your Ipod.

I have a 60GB also and have about 150 videos on it but I have a ViP211 now and a 622 on order. The recent drop in pocketDish prices has me intrigued.

I read a couple of reviews and they said the UI is a little difficult to get used to.

If you record something on the hard drive then connect it to a DVR with USB, can you transfer the recording from pocketDiSH and watch it on your TV?

Can the battery on pocketdish be changed ever or once it is done being recharged its time to buy another one... I see the website just says
"Power Source:
Internal: Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery
External: AC charger/adapter"

Also if I do get one I wanna get it from dishstore.net Will they eventually lower the price there as well or does only dish get to offer that price.

What software do you recommend?

Not sure what you are asking about the battery. it is re-chargeable for up to 4 hours (I believe correct me if I am wrong).

I tried that and PD won't play the itunes files. They are MPEG4 but not avi. So some sort of convertion is needed.

2. Haven't seen that but what I do sometimes is that I use the AV to record radio to PD and then I listen through my PD and skip commercials.

The battery is removable and can be replaced. They are $49.99 on the Archos website. Would be nice if the Dishtore could offer them at discounts, plus offer the other accessories for the PD!!

You should be able to use any FM modulator plug-in with your PD for your car. Haven't tried it, but it should work..

I have been trying to buy another battery for my AV700E since December but Archos is out of them. I finally gave up.

I was on a flight last week and used it the entire time. It lasted five hours and had not died as of the time I had to shut it off for landing.
