I currently have a sony kp-51ws500 with a dish network 501 dishplayer receiver with s-video going in, i added a dish 6000 hdtv receiver with component outputs to t.v. the 501 s-video and the 6000 sd with s video out seem to have just as goos if not better picture than the 6000 with component out. am i doing something wrong. i was thinking of getting the 921 with the hdvi outputto see if that makes any difference. thanks, pajer

Picture quality

SD from satellite will usually not look better when switching from S video to component feeds from the sat receiver to the display.... in many cases it's reported to look better using the S video inputs for SD from sats. The limiting item is the SD picture quality from the satellite, not the type of feed between the sat receiver and the display.

It depends on the scaler of your TV vs the scaler in the 6000. I use a projector on a 110" diagonal screen and dropped all of my Dish SD programming because:

1) It looks absolutely horrid blown up to 110"
2) After watching HD, there's no going back.

Now it's only DVD, HD or a little bit of SD digital.
