Planning a vacation this year and this idea popped into my head. Does anyone have any experience with this idea, a suggestion for which route to take or any other recommendation or cautionary tale?

I know nothing of it, but thanks for the idea.

Any east coast equivalent?

Never heard of Rocky Mountaineer until this topic. I did check out the website and it looks like they offer many different trips. Lovely country!

FWIW i did take the trip. Absolutely spectacular. Great views. Incredible food. Wonderful accommodations. One of my best cvacatiosn ever. My new avatr is of a totem in Stanley Park Vancouver. I could post other pictures but I am not sure there would be interest.

Stanley Park is a wonder of the world. It is just beautiful and there is so much to do and see there....

When I first saw this thread I thought maybe Mike (aka rockymtnhigh) had lost a bet with Geronimo and had to pay for his vacation! Visiting their website has given me some travel ideas of my own! Thanks for sharing this!
