Potentially aquiring Tailgater and Wally

My church recently received a donation of these items and they don't want them. I can get them both for a small donation. I don't know anything about the tailgater. I've had Wally before obviously. Can this thing just sit on my front porch or in my backyard? Which arcs does it pick up? I have so many questions.

The Tailgater needs a clear sky view in the direction of the sats. All Tailgaters pickup the western arc sats, and some of the newer models also pickup 61.5 on the eastern arc. If King makes one that picks both EA sats, I'm not aware of it, and it would be a very new model that likely would not be donated.

The Dish western arc sats are located at 110 deg, and 119 deg. The eastern arc sats are at 61.5 deg. and 72.7 deg.

That's a Tailgater 3. It looks at satellites 110, 119, and the now defunct 129. It does not look for 61.

It may have been mentioned already, but before you create an account at Dish, verify that the Wally is still not on someone's account, or you won't be able to use it.

You don't have to prove you have an RV. You can buy, on EBay, the Tailgater for about $100 and the Wally for about $50, so call it $150.

The answer to that is in the name of the dish. Many actual tailgaters don't have RV's to bring to the games.
