Has anyone tried using a switch on one of Directv's powerline network adapters? I am wondering if I can use this arrangement for a new hddvr and wii (and later perhaps a ps3 as well). They wouldn't be sharing simultaneous bandwidth, so that's not the issue, just whether it will work at all. It should, but I really don't have any experience with these types of adapters.

Thanks,

Tad

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. I run a switch off of one of my router's ports and that would be essentially the same thing.

That's what I do too, but I was just wondering if anyone had any first-hand experience... If not, I'll be the guinea pig.

I have a spare powerline adapter, but no spare outlets to use it with or I'd give it a try. I see you are in Tucson. I lived there 1984-2000.

I have a Netgear powerline adapter in my living room that is feeding a 4-port Netgear switch. Bought it on e-bay instead of Directv, but it should work the same. Only using 2 of the 4 ports on the switch for my 2 HR20's, but everything works OK.

:)
