Primestar Dish will work for FTA reciever??

Seems like the Primestar receiver used both cables to the receiver but i could be wrong.

correct. The Primestar receiver had 2 sat inputs. One for H and one for V polarity

If you live an apartment complex like I do than the c band on small dish can work but bigger is better. It is nice to team up with 99w cband and 97w ku plus 87w ku. Also you get bleed over from other sats on cband kind of nice to get 95w to 99w c band on small dish.

There's not many Spanish channels on ku band. The cheapest option to make your mom happy would be a stationary 6ft c band dish on 113W. Check out "the list" at the link attached. It was updated a couple of weeks ago from a scan I did with my 6ft Sadoun. You can get a cheap 6ft from the second link
