I have a new VIP 622 receiver from Dish Network. The installer gave me a Dish 1000 for HDTV purposes. This is a new setup and I have had problems when pointing the dish. I keep getting the error message that which says one of the inputs or switches is not connected properly. This person has even sent me a satellite finder to tweak my dish and also new cables, new seperator, and a new DP PLus and Dish Pro attachments.

When I go into the menu to select the dish type, there is no option for Dish 1000. The only choices are 300, 500, and Super. I have replaced all of the cables and all of the other items and I still get the same message.

Which Dish should I select in the menu (500 or Super)? Also, what else should I do to trouble shoot this receiver, dish, and the cables for this connection error message?

Specs:
VIP 622 Receiver
Dish Network 1000 Dish
Dish Pro
DP Plus
DP Plus Seperator

Thanks in advance,

That really doesn't matter.

You only select the dish when you installing the system to get the "approximate" skew and elevation for the dish. Though most installers don't even use this because we already basically know this.

No matter what dish is selected in this screen, the receiver will still read whatever switch you have (if everything is working correctly) when you do a "check switch".
