No matter what I do, I can't get my Explorer 8300 box to hold the 1080i setting. I have gone through several setup procedures, checked both the 480i and 1080i settings, and whenever I turn off the tv the box reverts to 480i. I'm using an HDMI cable from the box to a Sony Bravia LCD HD tv. My friend has had the same problem with 2 boxes of the 3 in his house. He now has 2 boxes that will hold the 1080i setting. Scientific America blames Adelphia's firmware. I am in the Cleveland Ohio market and would greatly appreciate any insights you may have.

Try to go back into the settings and delete all and start over, instead on the 480i make it 480p and also keep the 1080i.But as I said delete all first and with out exiting the settings view the screens(different formats)and chose 1080i/480p only.Hope that helps
