Programming changes?

They do not always credit you your money back either particularly on those more expensive PPV's. Sometimes they tell you that its too bad and that you have to pay for it.

Dish Network seems like they want to make it hard for you to drop the channels but easy for you to add them by making it not possible to drop the channels from their website. DirecTv allows you to drop the channels from their website.

I was curious, if you have AT60 w/ HBO and add the AT120 value pack w/ HBO and CINEMAX ... do they replace your AT60/HBO with the value pack?

Well, they dang well credit me my money back. I didn't order it. I live alone, so no one else ordered it. It's called a screw-up on their part, plain and simple.

They will lose me as a customer over this, faster than they can say "no, we can't refund your money."

I'm sure thats how many customers are lost. I had a heck of a time clearing something for a customer about two or three years back. Even the SuperVisor was being a buthole about it and was pretty well telling me "tough luck" and stating that it wouldnt be on the bill if it would not have been ordered. The best thing one can do is set the PPV limit to $0 and put a PIN on your account. I know that people have gotten past a PIN in the past though.

Okay, how come I can add programming via the website, but not remove programming via the website? Instead, I have to call them to remove a channel.

So E* can charge you $5. Think of it, a million program cancels a month = $5 millon.

Had no problem (other than a 20-minute wait-on-hold) getting them to remove the erroneous channel subscription and waive the $10 removal fee (yes, the CSR said $10) and they will be crediting me the partial month charge they hit me with in December.

You can bet I'll be carefully looking at my February billing.

The CSR was nice about the entire thing and didn't give me any grief about it. I was rather pleased when all was said and done.

if you did not order it you should not have to pay for it. if it was thier mistake on turning it on and it was a porn channel, dish, i would think, should compensate you. you should tell them that you are very upset that it was turned on. that will only work if you have never ordered porn from them.

It's a wash, as I said. They waived the $10 programming change fee and credited me the partial month they charged me in December when I didn't even know they'd activated it/charged me. So, they essentially admitted it was their screw-up and charged me nothing. Works fine for me.

Oh, and no, I've never ordered any of the porn stuff in the nearly 8 years I've been with E*.
