I just purchased a new Sony home theatre system and was excited to learn that the Dish 522 remote is able to control such devices. I took out my owners manual and tried every sony code in the book but wasn't able to get it working. So I called up Dish Network and after having them tell me to input all the sony codes again they had me do one of those code cycle things that goes through all the codes. Once that didn't work they seemed to be out of ideas and told me to call up Sony.

Before calling up Sony though I looked on their website and it says specifically that they don't provide support for 3rd party remotes. So my question is, do I have any options left or do I have to just accept the fact that I can't use my home theatre system with my remote?

Well I guess I can show you what I do in case they missed something...

Turn the amplifier on

Press and hold the aux button until it flashes
press 2
press the blank power button
keep pressing the up arrow until the amplifer turns off
When it turns off press the # key

If it ever works. You can also set up the amplifer to take control of the volume up and down in all modes.

Hold aux until it flashes
Press the # key
press the volume + key
press the 0 key
press the # key
switch back to sat and your all set
