Question about bitrate problem

Alright guys, I typically post over in the satellite forums, but today I have been having a problem with my Blu Ray disc. I recently purchased a Sony Vaio laptop and got a Blu Ray Reader/Writer. I had popped a movie in and watched it with some headphones, but I hadn't hooked my computer up to my TV or anyone elses TV until yesterday. The computer comes with an HDMI 1.3 connection, and I purchased some good cables a few months ago for my receiver set up at home, so I have an extra HDMI cable just for something like this. Well with the holiday, I went home to visit some family, and I went to hook my computer up to my friends TV via HDMI, and I popped in Jumper, and right away we noticed that the image was going all pixelated like the HD signal gets when the bitrate is low, or the signal strength on an OTA is low, or like when there is a rain storm and the digital signal is breaking up. I think I have painted a good enough picture so that you guys understand what it looks like and what I'm talking about.

At first I thought it was some of my settings on this computer, as I hadn't really changed much, but then I popped in The Bucket List, and then Casino Royale, as well as V for Vendetta, all of those movies were fine and I didn't have this problem.

So by the glorious process of elimination, I have figured out that it almost has to be the Jumper Disc, however, two nights ago I got Jumper and watched it at home one time on my PS3, and I didn't have this problem at all. I had watched V for Vendetta at home and never seen this problem either. So like I said, I think it is the disc, but I am almost sure that it can't be the disc, and that perhaps it is still a firmware/software issue with the player in my computer.

I know this has been a long rant and stuff, but does anyone have an suggestions for a course of action?
 
One of the reasons that I didn't buy the Sony when I was shopping around for laptops was this statement in the notes:

1 As with other optical media devices, circumstances may limit compatibility or prevent Blu-ray Disc® playback. VAIO® computers may not support movie playback on packaged media recorded in AVC or VC1 formats at high bit rates.

Have you updated your player lately?
Jerky playback of Jumper was common when using PowerDVD7.
Cyberlink reportedly has an update that eliminates this problem.
It has to do with an update to BD+ (according to Slysoft).

What BD player does the Vaio use?

I just got the machine on May 25th, and I replaced the hard drive and did a new install of Vista Ultimate on the new drive, so I had to find drivers and software to run all the hardware on here. So as of Memorial Day I had installed the latest stuff from all the manufacturers and the latest Power DVD, but Jumper did come out after that and this problem probably started then. I will look around for this update you mention, hopefully that will fix this issue, as I Googled the issue I found that it was a common thing for this movie across a lot of different players, but I guess the PS3 was left un affected, so that is why I hadn't seen this issue crop up.
 
Jumper is FOX.
FOX is the only studio using BD+.
PS3 is the only BD player that didn't have problems with BD+.
This allows FOX to claim 90% of the BD players have no problems with BD+.
VAIO® computers may not support movie playback on packaged media recorded in AVC or VC1 formats at high bit rates.
I think the very first generation of Toshiba/Sony laptops with HD/BD playback, respectively, claimed limitations of 20Mbps (no GPU assistance in decoding).
Jumper is 34Mbps but modern codecs have improved quite a bit.

Maybe Sony hasn't gotten the message. This was from their new line of laptops not their gen 1s. They also claim they will only record BD's in mpeg2.

3 Video recording to Blu-ray Disc™ media is done in MPEG2 format only.

Thanks for the help guys. The one guy suggested an update to my CyberLink software and I did that and it works fine now. I am actually kind of annoyed that it was a simple software fix, but again the guys on this forum are almost always super helpful when it comes to any A/V questions!
