I am going to upgrade from a 625 to 622 here real soon. My question is that I have over 40 hours of movies recorded on the 625, is there any way to transfer some of them to the new 622 DVR or will I have to burn the ones I want to keep onto DVD?

The other thing you could do is to disconnect the 625 from the dish, but leave it's outputs connected to your TV on another input. Then you just switch inpiuts on your TV to watch content off the 625 or 622, as you please.
Or you can wait until the summer of '07 as announced, the 622 will have the ability to transfer the hard drive content to an external hard drive. Maybe the 625 will have that option too and then you could get the content off the 625 and connect that hard drive to your 622. But you might not want to take that chance, because summer of '07 could end up summer '08 and who knows if the 625 will also get this option.
