question about upgrading to vip622

If I upgrade to a VIP622 and the installer comes out and swaps my dp34 with a dpp44 do I get to keep the dp34 or will the installer take it?

Unless you purchased the 34 - they take it.

I got the 34 with the free install promo. My equipment is mine and not leased does this include the 34 also?

Perhaps you'll end-up with the 34 still installed. You would only need the 44 if you will now have 4 sat. slots required for your new programming choice and/or if there was no way to run a second cable to the 622's location. If they can run the second cable and you will then have more than 4 tuners/DPP-compliant receivers they may just cascade another 34 into the system and run the second line to the 622. The 44s are still expensive and (I believe) in somewhat limited supply...

If you got it for free, then I'd just let the installer have it if they can use it. Think of it as a tip. You likely will never need it again once you have DPP44.
